Municipal Leasing - Quick introduction
Municipal leasing is a process with which
you're much more familiar than you might think. Go through
this common scenario, and note its similarity to the commercial
leasing process which you may already be well acquainted with.
- One of your municipal customers
request a quote lease terms for a $100,000 piece of equipment.
- You quote the rate from a published
rate chart, or by calling us if it's and unusual-sounding
deal.
- You fax us a Municipal Lease
Application Form, or telephone us, describing the equipment
and identifying the prospective lessee.
- Almost always during the same
phone call, or immediately after looking at the Application,
we give you a tentative credit approval. Normally, if there
is any unusual documentation, or other needs, we'll tell
you then.
- We prepare the lease documents,
and send them out as you instruct. Usually via email.
The lessee reviews the documents, and accepts without change.
- The Dealer (you) completes delivery,
and the lessee completes the Acceptance Certificate.
- The completed, executed documents
are delivered to us, and checked for correctness.
We telephone the lessee/user to verify delivery, billing
information and just kin of make friends.
- Funding takes place, normally
within three days.
Fairly straightforward, right? Of course,
it's not practical for us to address every possible variation
on how to get a lease done. While the above scenario is fairly
typical, there are differences on occasion. As a general rule,
you should consult with us about any unusual items or requests
for changes in established forms.
